Giusto qualche domanda, due chiacchiere sugli anni, sulla qualità e poi un “Ma per caso hai…”, seguito dal nome che hai fatto a tutti e tutti ti hanno proposto di no, perché non è così facile da trovare.
E infine, quasi perché ti scoccia non chiedere anche di un loro vinile, trovi una bellezza. Trovi lui.
Prima edizione europea, inciso nel 1979 dalla CBS Records. Certo, la copertina ha i suoi anni, eppure gli angoli smangiucchiati se la cavano ancora bene. Meglio i doppi vinili, perfetti!

Questa mattina sono un po’ arrabbiata con YouTube e Internet in generale (poi capirete perché 🙄), però non lasciatevi scoraggiare perché la canzone di oggi appartiene ad un stratosferico gruppo inglese, i The Clash, che anche dopo 36 anni riescono a dimostrare quanto poco si cambi! Avevo detto di lasciar stare Brexit e il lato politico ma la storia del video (poi capirete) mi hanno fatto cambiare idea, almeno per oggi 😁
È un testo davvero attuale, che distrugge pian piano la falsa idea contenuta nella prima strofa (Dicono che gli immigrati rubino i coprimozzi/Dei gentiluomini rispettabili/Dicono che sarebbe tutto rose e fiori/Se l’Inghilterra appartenesse di nuovo agli inglesi) raccontando tutte le tragedie e le colpe che hanno colpito gli inglesi proprio a causa loro. Giusto per far riflettere un po’…

Ci ho messo un po’ per trovare il titolo a questo post… Non sapevo come descrivervi questa giornata, ma credo che “Il giorno di Joe Strummer” renda bene l’idea.
Il 21 Agosto 1952 è nato quel genio musicale di John Graham Mellor, vero nome di Joe Strummer, cantante dei The Clash e poi solista (Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros). Io ho passato tutto il giorno ad ascoltarlo e la canzone che vi propongo arriva dal suo secondo periodo.
Con il ricordo di Joe, vi auguro una buona notte 💋
